WG PRACTICE SCHEDULE
WG PRACTICES: All practices will be at WGHS, as the middle school is closed due to gate repairs (the pool is aok, the fence/gate needs to have some repairs made.) A good rule of thumb upon arrival, if the WG pool you normally swim in looks closed, walk around the corner to the other pool to find the people!
BLOCK PARTY RESULTS: It was a quick one on Saturday with some incredibly fast times. The results are uploaded on the website under “my meet results” along with the alphabetical results list here.
JULY RENO MEET UPDATE: I just went to visit my son at UNR last week and stopped by the brand new pool that the July meet will be held. It is absolutely incredible that the city has built a facility like this for their community and that WE get to bring our swimmers there. The meet will be divided into 3 sessions with the Senior swimmers racing from 8-noon, younger kids from 1-4pm and then the top 8 in each event from the previous two sessions will race during the 6pm finals. There are lots of nearby hotels (with the Atlantis and Home 2 Suites being less than a mile away from the Moana Pool.) The meet will be just Saturday and Sunday (July 12-13), so arriving Friday to Reno is perfect!
SUMMER RACE TEAM: If your Race Team swimmer would like to join us for Summer Race Team, be sure to secure your preferred spot before it opens to the public tomorrow. We also have swim lessons, camps and other fun things open for registration on the homepage. We are looking to close many sessions if enrollment does not go up. Please be sure to register if you’d like to ensure your swimmers have a spot for the summer!
FITTER AND FASTER CLINIC: We will be welcoming our friends from Fitter & Faster into town for a Butterfly and Breaststroke with Brandon Fischer on May 3 (Butterfly) & May 4 (Breaststroke) at WG. We anticipate this camp to sell out quickly and I believe some sessions are already filled to capacity. I highly recommend signing up today to secure your swimmer’s spot (or add your swimmer to the waitlist.) If you have any questions about the clinic, email Michael Plantamura at [email protected] and he will provide assistance.
