TEAM SHIRTS: Swimmers should pick up their team shirts this week from Coach Adam at Branham (if they swim there in the morning) or Coach Claire at Lincoln (if they swim there in the afternoon.)  These are free for all swim team members!

2025-2026 SEASON REGISTRATION: If your swimmer will be joining us in the Fall, registration is open to everyone.  Be sure to register ASAP to secure your preferred location/group/time.  ALL swimmers in ALL groups will need to register for the new season.  Swimmers are NOT automatically enrolled in the new season.

2025-2026 CALENDAR PREVIEW: Almost all of our events for the new season are on the events page.  If you’re more of a “list person”, you can preview it here (we’re still making updates along the way.) It’s very important to follow the RSVP deadlines.  I feel this can be the season that we can all get your RSVPs in on time!!!

JOHN MUIR UPDATE: The part is at the pool and they are working on getting it installed in the next few days (so they say.)   Then they will need to vacuum and switch on the heat.  That can take an additional week. As soon as I know when we will shift back to John Muir from Lincoln, I’ll let you know! We know this location change has been tough for many, but are so grateful for your flexibility so we can keep the kids in the pool and on the team.

SATURDAY CLINICS: These one hour classes are for ALL SWIMMERS IN ALL GROUPS to focus on specifics to hone the skills (flip turns, open turns, backstroke starts and dives) in small groups and work with different coaches. RSVP on the “events” page of the site.  The last clinic of the season is THIS SATURDAY at Crossgates (1297 Peralta Drive.)

BLOCK PARTIES: These two hour events are for ALL SWIMMERS IN ALL GROUPS and are a great way for swimmers to try out racing by competing against only our team.  Ribbons for all participants in each heat and snacks post-meet. RSVP on the “events” page of the site.

COLLEGE ESSAY SERIES: As part of their return to BAY in the summer, we’ve asked some of our college swimmers to share their thoughts on a variety of topics.  Enjoy their wisdom, as many have been on our team for more than half their lives!

WHAT BAY HAS DONE FOR ME, by Andrew Enney (Bellarmine College Prep ‘24, University of Colorado, Boulder ‘28): My parents put me through swim lessons when I was very little to teach me water safety, but I loved the water so much that as soon as I was old enough, I was swimming with Swim South Bay. Since then, I have made many good friends and learned a great deal both in the water and out. While being on the team taught me the four strokes and all the techniques required to be a successful swimmer and athlete in general, early morning practices and long hard workouts taught me determination and grit. I would not be as hard a worker or as passionate a team member in any of the other spheres of my life if it weren’t for BAY teaching me to get up at 5 in the morning even when I’m tired or go to a 2 hour practice after a long day of school. Spending so many years with great coaches and amazing team members has given me the opportunity to experience being in such a close community and prepared me to work well with others and made me a resolved athlete, student, and beyond.
