CROSSGATES (XG) PRACTICE SCHEDULE
WGMS PRACTICE SCHEDULE
RACING WEEKEND: That was quite possibly the most fun Block Party EVER!!! We had 41 brand new swimmers race on Saturday and they were stars. Paired with our old pros, it was an outstanding way to kick off the season. The 49er relay was awesome (the ages of the four swimmers had to total 49 or less, but it would be fun if we could have had a football player join us!) Be sure to check the “my meet results” tab on the homepage for the racing results. Hope you can all join us for the next one on 10/18.
Our contingent who swam in Capitola on Saturday morning enjoyed the most beautiful weather, braved the new experience and had a great time. Coach Adam even swam and WON his age group!
On top of all that, we also had a group race on Sunday in Novato for the Senior Meet. They were pleasantly surprised at their early-in-the-season speed. It’s going to be a great year for our BAY swimmers.
If your swimmer is entered in this weekend’s MAC meet in Milpitas, you will receive the “Meet Guide” as soon as we get details from the host team (hopefully by tomorrow.)
GOLD, JV, PREP TEAM ACTIVITY: We will not have practice on Friday, September 26 for the Gold, JV or Prep groups, but instead a fun team activity at Golfland. Please RSVP by TUESDAY, 9/23 and read more about it here.
FITTER AND FASTER CAMP: Fitter & Faster is hosting a 2-day swim camp at Crossgates on October 4 & 5. This is an outside program which brings National Team members and Olympians to local pools. Local National Team alum Maxime Rooney will be leading our camp at Crossgates. There are additional fees to sign up for this camp (but every swimmer we had go through the program RAVED about it!) Registration is limited to the first 24 swimmers in the session; learn more and sign up here!
I JOINED THE TEAM, NOW WHAT?! This is the final week we will award prizes to those who read all the way to the end of the deck. These prizes are for all BAY families, NOT just the new ones; check it out!
FOOD DRIVE: Our team is partnering with Pacific Swimming to collect canned food for our Team Rep, Aly Cutforth, to take to the Athlete Summit on 10/4 in Pleasant Hill. You can drop off your canned food to either pool for collection. Pop top cans, dry pasta, oats and nut butters are perfect.
SWIM BINGO: We’ve seen quite a few BINGO prizes won last week. Once they get their first “bingo” (five in a row), they can show their coach (either their shirt or the printout) and pick a prize from the box. Just one prize for their first bingo. If they earn a “blackout” (complete all 25 squares), then can fill out the form (coming soon) to get some team swag! Swimmers can write directly on their shirts or use this printable to keep track of their BINGO throughout the season. We will be ordering the blackout team swag every few months so there is plenty of time for all to earn it!
SAFESPORT COURSES: The USA Swimming Safe Sport Club Recognition program allows a USA Swimming member club to demonstrate its commitment to creating a healthy and positive environment free from abuse for all its members through the development and implementation of club governance measures, Safe Sport policies and reporting mechanisms, Safe Sport best practices and training to athletes and parents. This resource is intended to provide guidance on the various remote Safe Sport Club Recognition training options available to athletes and parents while at home.
