CROSSGATES (XG) PRACTICE SCHEDULE
WGMS PRACTICE SCHEDULE
WATSONVILLE WEEKEND: Another beautiful weekend at the coast with some really fast swims. Big props to those who raced in their first “off-site” meet. It’s really great to see the things being practiced during the week can come together with racing speed at a meet! We hope the host team will get the results file out by mid-week so all times will appear in the “my meet results” portion of the site. Stay tuned there.
SATURDAY’S BLOCK PARTY: If you have RSVPed for this Saturday’s Block Party held at Crossgates with the Goosemonkey team, be sure to have your swimmer pre-select events here to skip the check in line. We will end the meet with the 49er relay again (no signups needed for that- just find 4 swimmers with their aggregate ages being 49 or less and pick a lane!)
PUMPKIN COLORING CONTEST: Get into the fall spirit with our Pumpkin Coloring Contest! Each week, swimmers can submit their colored/decorated pumpkins to be featured in the newsletter. Swimmers will vote on their favorites and we’ll announce the winners every week via the weekly news. LAST WEEK’S WINNER WAS AVIV IN THE VARSITY GROUP! (she was the only one who entered and automatically won the Cinelux gift certificate)
Prizes:
-
All participants will receive a small prize
-
Weekly winners (with the most votes) will earn a gift card!
How to Enter:
-
Swimmers can email a photo or scanned copy of their colored pumpkin to [email protected]
Encourage your athlete to participate and don’t forget to check the newsletter each week to vote for your favorite pumpkins!
TEAM BACKPACKS: We have TWO brand new navy/white TYR backpacks embroidered with the team logo available for sale. $75 and billed to your team account. First come, first served. If you’re interested, email me here with where you’d like to pick it up. Perhaps it can be a holiday gift… (so we wouldn’t give it directly to the swimmer.)
SWIM BINGO: Keep checking those boxes! Once they get their first “bingo” (five in a row), they can show their coach (either their shirt or the printout) and pick a prize from the box. Just one prize for their first bingo. If they earn a “blackout” (complete all 25 squares), then can fill out the form to get some team swag (be sure to read the rules at the top of the form! Swimmers can write directly on their shirts or use this printable to keep track of their BINGO throughout the season. We will be ordering the blackout team swag every few months so there is plenty of time for all to earn it!
SAFESPORT COURSES: The USA Swimming Safe Sport Club Recognition program allows a USA Swimming member club to demonstrate its commitment to creating a healthy and positive environment free from abuse for all its members through the development and implementation of club governance measures, Safe Sport policies and reporting mechanisms, Safe Sport best practices and training to athletes and parents. This resource is intended to provide guidance on the various remote Safe Sport Club Recognition training options available to athletes and parents while at home.
