CROSSGATES (XG) PRACTICE SCHEDULE
WGHS PRACTICE SCHEDULE
SPRING RACE TEAM IS NOW OPEN: The Winter Race Team ends on 2/13 with registration for the Spring Race Team opening TODAY for the 3/2 start. The WG session is 12 weeks, while the Crossgates Spring session is 6 weeks. (The Crossgates neighborhood cabana program starts up mid-April.) If your Crossgates swimmer would like to shift to WG in mid-April, we will have a special form for you to fill out in March.
REOPENING RSVP FOR BAY HOSTED MEET: We will be hosting a meet on 2/28-3/1 at WGHS. This is a great meet for all levels. I’ve reopened the RSVP (until tomorrow) in hopes that more swimmers will sign up. Be sure to denote which day your swimmer is available (“Saturday”, “Sunday” or “both days”) in the text box of your RSVP. Since we are hosting this meet, we will need all attending families to volunteer for a 60-90 minute shift. A huge thank you to those who’ve already selected volunteer spots for the meet.
PRIVATE LESSONS: Interested in getting a boost in your swimming? Coaches Claire and Izzie have a few private lessons available on the events page. Once you sign up, your account will be billed directly.
BETA TESTERS NEEDED FOR NEW USA SWIMMING APP - USA Swimming is seeking app testers for the beta version of the new USA Swimming Mobile app. The signup is at the top of the Stakeholder Engagement page (LSC is “PC” and team is “BAY”)
FINAL CALL FOR TESTIMONIALS: We are in data gathering mode to help us better our team and can use all the help we can get. If you would like to participate in a brief survey, we’d be grateful! All participants will be entered in a monthly raffle to win a $50 credit on your team account. Jan 31 is the final day to participate:https://forms.gle/hGfnDKKNDx3GfSL46.
THRIVING YOUTH ATHLETE SUMMIT: If you’re an athlete, coach, sports parent, or there’s an athlete in your life you support, you’re going to love this educational opportunity! I know that I’m not the only one who believes that sports can shape far more than athletic performance. They help young people build resilience, discover their identity, learn how to handle pressure, and grow as confident and capable humans.
As an advocate for athlete and child wellbeing, I am proud to share "THRIVING YOUTH ATHLETES", a free virtual summit created by María Inés Flores - Olympic gymnast, sports parent, and founder of The Powerful Athlete. If this resonates with you, register for this summit now, and share this invitation with someone who can benefit! Recorded webinars will be available every day during the 2 week summit for you to view at your leisure.

María’s story is powerful. At 17, she was so burned out that she competed at the Olympics… and retired the very next day. Her parents were great, but if they’d had a roadmap, her journey could have been different, and she probably wouldn’t have quit before getting the most out of the sport she loved. That’s why she created this summit, to support and guide today’s sports parents.
In this free summit, you'll learn how to:
• Support athletes' big dreams and peak performance without burnout or excess stress
• Protect their mental health, confidence, and joy
• Make informed decisions in the athletes’ and their family’s long term benefit
SWIM BINGO: Keep checking those boxes! Once they get their first “bingo” (five in a row), they can show their coach (either their shirt or the printout) and pick a prize from the box. Just one prize for their first bingo. If they earn a “blackout” (complete all 25 squares), then can fill out the form to get some team swag (be sure to read the rules at the top of the form.) Swimmers can write directly on their shirts or use this printable to keep track of their BINGO throughout the season. We will be ordering the blackout team swag every few months so there is plenty of time for all to earn it!
SAFESPORT COURSES: This resource is intended to provide guidance on the various remote Safe Sport Club Recognition online training options available to athletes and parents from home. SafeSport is a grassroots education program designed to help swimmers and parents navigate boundaries and appropriate behaviors.
Training for parents:
Training for 13-17 year old athletes:

If none of these classes work for you, please visit the following links to take the class when it works for you (athletes and parents.) Parents and swimmers should take this course every two years.
